Table Française in Acadiana - Directory

8/29/2017

In my quest to connect, preserve, and promote my Cajun heritage, I have made it my current mission to become a fluent French speaker. I began by taking a class with University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Continuing Education program with the marvelous Kirby Jambon. Now I am seeking out French Tables, or Table Française. (A table française is a place where French speaking folks of any level meet to use the language.) Next on the list...Universite Sainte Anne!

If you too are on a quest, you should join me on my journey! You need not be afraid, French speakers are very kind. Whether you are looking to learn the language, brush up on what you know, or just put the language of our past into our future by speaking it for all to hear...Allons!

Écouter. Apprendre. Parler.

My family originated in Avoyelles Parish and I've return to Avoyelles to learn my family history. Learning the language would assist in part of the journey that I am in the process of taking. I wish I could download the French lessons where I can learn at my leisure.
